If you tested my blood it would read: 50% chocolate, 50% turmeric. So, I combined my two favorite things into one. Ever since I made this recipe, I’ve had it every single night! It is seriously the perfect combination of flavors and is so incredibly healing. This latte is filled with potent anti-inflammatories, superfoods, and has the perfect chocolatley taste without the added sugar.
Turmeric is one of the most, if not the most, healing foods to exist; it has potent medicinal properties. It’s anti-inflammatory properties have shown to match pharmaceutical drugs specifically targeted to fight inflammation. Turmeric is also a powerful antioxidant, and can actually increase the antioxidant capacity of the body. Its effects have shown to reduce the risk for brain disease, heart disease, and even the risk of cancer. It’s that powerful. If you were to ask me 1 supplement I recommend, it would be turmeric (just watch out, because along with its potent healing properties, it comes with POTENT staining abilities…. I’ve learned the hard way.) In order to get the full effects of turmeric, it must be combined with black pepper and and a little dietary fat for maximum absorption! And trust me, you want to get the full effects. Just another reason why this latte is perfect — it contains everything you need to soak in all the healing benefits. (Ginger and cinnamon also make the list for their potent anti-inflammatory properties, so I added them in here too).
Combine turmeric with chocolate, (specifically a tablespoon of Philosophie Cacao Magic Superfoods powder!), for the most delicious latte with all the healing benefits. Just one scoop of Philosophie Cacao Magic contains 10 grams of plant based protein and a whole host of superfoods (maca and reishi, just to name a few) . There are no artificial sweeteners or flavors, yet it tastes amazing on it’s own!
My favorite way to make this is using heated nut milk and blending in a Vitamix for maximum frothiness. Beware: this WILL stain your Vitamix yellow from the turmeric! (to get rid of turmeric stains, simply wash blender as normal, and place blender in direct sunlight for an afternoon!) You can also use a handheld frother if you’re not ready to make the investment in a Vitamix (although I highly recommend). Add your ingredients, turn up the speed, and in seconds, you’ll have the foamiest, most nourishing latte.

Hi Susan!
The Vital Proteins contains 9g and the cacao magic 10g so if you add both 19. But, both are completely optional!! You could sub regular cacao powder. Sometimes I add all 3, sometimes one, sometimes just cacao. I am completely plant based aside from incorporating collagen so it depends what I ate that day! Definitely listen to your body, the recipe is still just as delicious /anti-inflammatory subbing plain cacao! Hope this helps clarify
